Drama –play in the Training Center
In CARE they had a nice theater festival where students from different schools attending special English classes did play some role plays. This was really lovely and cute to see…
They tried hard to make the program nice, had amazingly nice costumes… lots of thoughts were brought up, that one can think about in life –religion, education… and the marriage system here in Pakistan.
A couple discussed the plan for the daughter, suddenly they invited the supposed family.. the match could work out was the impression. The son- a little rebel- traveled to Norway, not really happy with parents making a decision for him.
In Norway he met girls, talking about changing their boyfriends on a daily basis. He was getting angry with them.. and hold a speech on Pakistan.. it’s great system, the values, the importance of relations and a strong family, that sticks together… in comparison to Europe, where obviously all these things are not so important from his point of view..
Well, the first minute I was quite feeling strange ..
but thinking about it I realized that everywhere people have their impressions about the “others”- not so good systems…you know what the media produces e.g. about Pakistan.. Anyhow, I realized again and again how important it is to understand each other’s culture before judging.. it’s so much easier to have prejudices - but talking to people can change so much, learning about how the people think and feel, exchanging ideas! I guess this little drama is just a good example for the fact, that this is not happening enough in the world…looking at what is happening around the world….
well I will visit the class soon and start to learn more about their ideas and thinking!
